NEW KIVERCO PICKING SYSTEM INSTALLED AND RUNNING AT EMS!

NEW KIVERCO PICKING SYSTEM INSTALLED AND RUNNING AT EMS!

WE HAVE RECENTLY INVESTED IN A NEW PICKING SYSTEM AT EMS!

THE NEW RECYCLING SYSTEM BY KIVERCO HAS BEEN INSTALLED AT OUR EXETER YARD AND WE’VE NOTICED AN INCREDIBLE DIFFFERENCE IN THE SHORT TIME IT’S BEEN UP AND RUNNING!

We removed part of our existing system and incorporated the new Kiverco system.

The results of this are that it’s already dramatically increased the waste we’re now able to process! With the old system we were processing 20 hours per day over 2 shifts – The new system has cut this right back to 9 hours over 1 shift!

We’re also getting a better quality recycled product from the new system, which means it’s easier to get rid of those residual outputs and hopfully shows our commitment to all our customers that we really care about recycling and recovering as much waste as possible.

This was a massive investment for us at EMS and a decision that wasn’t made lightly. We looked at a lot of Kiverco plants around the country beforehand, making sure that the design for us was right.

What we found fantastic was the indepth planning stage. A lot of back and forth which meant that when it came to the install it all went very smoothly and kept to the quoted timeframes.

Key pieces of equipment include
* Spalleck Combi Screen
* Waller 3 way Seperator
* Steinerd Optical Sorter

These 3 key pieces mixed with the Kiverco system have made a massive difference to the efficiency and speed in which we can process the recycling.

The build couldn’t have gone smoother and we were really impressed with the Kiverco installation team.

All timescales were kept to, and since turn on we’re processing over 400 ton per day!! Our issue now is that we’ve got such a fast processing machine, we need enough material to keep up with it!

Certainly a problem we’ve never had before!

SO WHO ARE KIVERCO?

Here’s a bit of info direct from the company!

EMS promote Recycling and how we can impact on the environment at Farmwise in Devon

EMS promote Recycling and how we can impact on the environment at Farmwise in Devon

EMS at Farmwise

The 2019 Farmwise event was a fun, family-friendly event held in Devon. Its main aim was to educate children (and their parents!) a little more about where food comes from and also how key proper waste recycling is to protect the environment. It was also designed to help enthuse the next generation of farmers coming into the sector and help to emphasise the importance of farming to rural economies. EMS Waste Management was only too happy to attend after being invited down by the event organisers. It not only allowed us to share our expertise around waste management with others but also to help make the event more fun for all.

EMS at Farmwise Devon

On 15th October 2019, one of our experienced drivers headed down to the event in our state-of-the-art skip loader. The organisers had asked us to attend in order to give youngsters more insight into the waste society produces and how essential recycling is for the planet. Once there, our vehicle got lots of positive attention from the kids and also generated lots of questions. Amongst other things, we explained how waste is segregated on the EMS site, how certain materials are dealt with and where they go to be recycled. We also explained how waste can be turned into biomass fuel or other energy sources. Perhaps the biggest hit though was when the children were invited to sit in our truck! This was not only lots of fun but also helped them understand more about the work EMS does and how important it is for the environment.
